Missed some days in here.

Have finished completely weeding out the strawberry beds.

Will water heavily and fertilize and then mulch heavily with straw. Will lay down paper in the open areas away from the plants for extra protection.

Cleaned out the Golden currant box and will also mulch with black mulch.

We have had to spray Insecticidal Soap all over the gooseberries and the currants due to Sawfly larvae as they are stripping the plants of all the leaves. Only saw a couple after spraying and hand picked them. There were thousands of them so impossible to hand pick them all.

All transplants doing very well.

Need to start to weed out the veggie beds and the asparagus bed.

Unfortunately cannot tell which are weeds and which are parsnips. May have to wait until they are a wee bit bigger for that part of bed. Next time, allow the weeds to germinate and clear off before planting.

Another hot, humid day.

Planted out the large square area that Frank prepared yesterday.

Put in a single row of tomatoes, all different varieties, not idea which.  :)

Also put in all the squash, acorn, delicata, butternut and hubbard. They should easily cover all that ground and send their vines all over the tarps.

Also planted out the remaining swiss chard and the lettuce interplanted with the tomatoes in the raised beds.

Lastly I did all the transplanting. All the dahlias into clay pots. The fig into a much larger pot. Pricked out 18 broccoli, 18 kohlrabi and 12 kale into cell modules.

Moved the three cherry bush plants into slightly larger pots.

Potted up all the herbs into a couple of large pots. One for the dill and the basil and the other for the flat leaf parsley.

Very odd weather all day but did not rain other than first thing in the morning.

Has cooled right off this evening.

Ghastly humidity today.

Laid down the pea stone path between beds 3 and 4 and outside of bed 4.

Frank prepared an area beside the garlic for me to plant squash and more tomatoes. He weeded it and roto-tilled in compost as squash is a heavy feeder.

We "rented" Noah for a couple of hours and we got the next two beds installed. Noah completely filled bed #2 with the triple mix.
